Job Purpose Statement

This role is responsible as a technical reference point between Leadway and its Retail Partners, Institutions & Direct Customers to achieve the strategic objectives of the Company through the implementation of quality control checks on policies, more so, to ensure concise matching & upload of adequate premium for any classes of risk proposed. The role entails building and maintaining close rapport between the company and its clients. To analyze risks and develop solutions for clients’ needs as well as collate, sort, process, and interpret any request relating to life and non-life business & operations.

The person will be responsible for Opex, Capex, volumes associated with jobs such as large customer accounts, and possible loss/impact on the company if an error occurs.

  • Managing the Partnership between Leadway and our various partners in the branch
  • Drive Premium Income from HNI & Premium Segments.
  • Increase Premium Income & Customer Count from various customer segments & Partners.
  • Drive Cross-selling to the current customer base
  • Monitoring the output from underwriting & operations to ensure adequacy and effectiveness on all output.
  • Supervising reconciliation that may arise from each partner.
  • Ensuring the effective implementation of management policies and procedures
  • Monitor Compliance with Regulatory / Statutory Requirements.

Key Accountabilities (Duties and Responsibilities)

Financial(70%)

Drive business performance and operational excellence to ensure that;

  • Adherence to the monthly budget
  • Adherence to the quarterly budget
  • Adherence to the annual budget

Internal Business Processes(10%)

  • Ability to handle all inquiries coming from each partner and customer to ensure timely processing of Insurance Requests
  • Regular Premium collection and processing in a timely manner to ensure financial targets are achieved.
  • Regular tracking to ensure the renewal of expired businesses and partnerships.
  • Timely submission of all reports as they fall due to regulators.

Customer(10%)

  • Ensure that customer relationship management services to partners, both to the Institution and their Officers are seamless and timely.
  • Develop a mechanism for business visits to partners on a weekly basis with the goal of ensuring that there is no service failure emanating from Leadway.
  • Work with the institutions, organizations, and partners in setting yearly targets for the business and provide support to the partners that will ensure that the targets are achieved on a monthly and annual basis.
  • Develop processes that ensure the Retail Team profile, engage and sign up new customers, Institutions & partners annually.
  • Regularly ensure that transparent, professional, and open communication exists between Leadway and Partners always.

Learning and Growth(10%)

  • Train Retail Officers and Quality Assurance Officers on a quarterly basis with a focus on sales processes, relationship building, and business closing abilities that will ensure financial targets are achieved.
  • Train Staff of The Branch Retail Team on the business model with a focus on building synergies between the partners, their customers, and Leadway in ensuring the partnership goals are achieved.

Job Qualifications

Ideal Job Specifications

Academic:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from a recognized University (Business Related preferred)
  • A Master’s Degree is an added advantage.
  • Professional qualification of CIIN or CII

Desired work experience:

  • 2+ years’ work experience in a sales role.
  • Exposure to digital business models like e-commerce, and B2C marketplaces is desirable.
  • Advanced ability to develop and integrate the organization’s strategies and initiatives with division strategies with minimal or no supervision.
  • Excellent ability as a negotiator to influence our various customers & partners for better business relationship
  • Experience in engaging with key people in Financial Services & Related Industry
  • Strong Skills in problem resolution in a sales-driven environment.
